There’s a mouse in the house

Energy Institute High School was among the first schools in the Houston Independent School District to pilot the PowerUp initiative in 2014 and has been embedding online learning ever since. This commitment to technology enabled learning continues to shine through in more advanced ways like: AutoCAD, robotics and computer programming across all grade levels and disciplines.

Friends of Energy was proud to gift each and every student and teacher at Energy Institute a wireless mouse to start their 2021-2022 school year off right — over 700 mice! Recognizing that students and faculty are chasing ever more complex technology projects, it is the hope of Friends of Energy that these mice will help us achieve our vision of supporting students and empowering teachers.

Where some schools might get a “different” idea by screaming about a mouse in our house, Energy is overjoyed! Each one of our students and teachers are gliding effortlessly and safely through their learning spaces with cordless mice provided by our partners with Friends of Energy. Students are engaging with ease with high quality engineering design software thanks to their cordless mice! Who would think that a simple, yet valuable device could enhance the PBL experiences of our young innovative STEM students! We can’t wait for our partners to see what our Energy kids are up to with their “mouses” in our house.
